X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I am huge fan of the X-Men. I hope the story line does not take too big of a hit. After the awful job that was done with X-Men III: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine has to be good!!! I am also very excited too see Gambit’s character introduced; they should have included him in the original trilogy.   Marvel is definitley moving full speed ahead leaking an X-Men Origin: Magneto is currently in development. The movie not due out until mid next year. Hopefully the anticipation is not in vain.

Gotta love the Palins

bristolpalin1Bristol Palin’s future mother-in-law was arrested on Thursday on drug charges. Just more news that makes us love this family..ughhhhhhhhh!!!! The republican party will definitely spin this as a very distant issue and has no relation to Sarah Palin. Her daughter is dating the son of a possible drug dealer or user. As I recall judgement is a huge criteria when considering a run for office. No one is perfect, but America certainly wants you to be near perfect when your considering a run for office. Music Industry Trying a New Approach Vs File-Sharers

riaalogo

According to Irene Collins with Efluxmedia, the music industry is reportedly taking a different approach in the fight against file sharers. “Notices seem to be a better solution when it comes to banning, warning or preventing this kind of irregularity. In other words, under the new plan, the RIAA will send notices to ISPs that identify the IP addresses of suspected file sharers. ISPs will then send warnings to their customers and then cut them off if the users fail to curb their illegal downloads. Details are still being worked out, but most reports said downloaders might lose their net connection after the third notice. The termination could last anywhere from three months to a year”.

While all of this taking place, music sales are surprising up overall from last year. I recall a few years back, faithful downloaders responded to criticism by claim that the quality of music being put out by the artists was not worth by buying; I guess things have changed. It will be interesting to see if they will develop some type of database that will keep track of these individuals so other ISP will have a red flag to refuse service. Read the full article.

Barkely Had It Right

turnergillpicLets be serious, the good ol boyz ritual is very much alive in the south and will probably stay that way for a long time. It happens in everyday employment so why not college football? After Charles Barkley publicly lobbied for Buffalo coach Turner Gill to be hired as proofed that Auburn can get away from its persona that most southern universities carry, they hired Gene Chizik. Chizik whose Iowa State team earned a ten game losing streak was reportedly a better fit. Division I football is a ridiculous failure when it comes to hiring black head coaches. Must there be a rule similar to the NFL making it mandatory that teams interview black candidates? Yes racism is still alive and well and it is extra bold in the south. Look at Clemson and South Carolina. Clemson recently let Tommy Bowden go after years of disappointment only to hire the assistant coach Dabo Sweeney; makes sense right? Look at South Carolina and Steve Spurrier who replaced Lou Holtz. The fact is that most of these southern states would not be satisfied with black head coaches. They will praise the black players, but will not put a black man in the driver’s seat. It is mostly the same reason why the election polls shaped out the way they did in the south going overwhelming for John McCain. Older white people in these areas don’t see blacks as equals and probably never will.
